Summary
This project will use a purpose-restored building in the extensive grounds of Luss Manse to create craft workshops and a visitor centre.
In addition to providing a meeting room for local young people, the Centre will have three main sections each of which relates to the other two:
- A visitor centre providing information about the history and importance of the village of Luss and its Church. Built into the visitors' centre will be touch-screen computers which will tell the story of the village through the eyes of the local community. The visitor centre will also be able to be used as a training room when required.
- A computer centre providing computers with broadband access for use by the community. This centre will provide computer training in word-processing, publishing, spreadsheets and accountancy, digital photography, video editing and webpage construction.
- Two small craft workshops will be furnished with equipment to provide training opportunities for young people in the community and older members of the community in pottery and candle-making skills.
