Balmaha is located on the east side of Loch Lomond and was identified
as the best location for an environmental playscape as part of the Buchanan
Community Futures process.
Designed also as a pilot for the 'Play in the Park' forum, this playscape
will incorporate the natural features of the National Park and will be
sited next to the existing Visitor Centre to maximise access for both
tourists and families from the five communities that make up the Buchanan
Community.
Featuring natural sculptures, a willow maze, a crannog, an earthscape,
child-size rabbit holes and much more, this project will encourage young
people to learn about and interact with the natural environment that surrounds
them, whilst also providing a welcome boost to the local economy as families
stay in the area for longer.
